Ingredients:
Mackerel Tin Fish 285g
3 Potatoes
2 Eggs
Bread crumbs 200g
5-7 Green Chillies
2 Big onions
Curry leaves 3 tbsp
Salt (as required)
Black pepper (as required)
1 lime (half is enough)
Coconut oil
Step 1: Get every ingredient ready.
- Cut potatoes into half and boil. Make sure water is above all the potatoes.
- Grind pepper. No need to grind well.
- Finely cut onions into small pieces.
- While doing this check the potatoes.
- Finely cut chillies into small pieces.
- Finely cut curry leaves.
- Open tin fish and drain all the water. Smash all the fish pieces.
- Heat goes off from boiled potatoes. Now, peel off.
- Then smash potatoes well.
- Beat the eggs.
- Put breadcrumbs into a bowl.
Step 2: Prepare Filling
- Put 1 ½ tablespoon of oil into the pan.
- Wait till it gets heat.
- Then add onion, curry leaves and chillies. Put a pinch of salt and cook well. (Note tin fish already have salt).
- When onions start turning to a golden brown, add 2 pinches of pepper.
- Add smashed tin fish to the mixture and turn off the flame.
- Add pepper as required.
- Taste the mixture and check whether to put some more salt and pepper.
- At last add smashed potatoes. Potatoes are used to bind the mixture then only we can make fine balls.
- Taste again and add salt and pepper if required only.
- Let the mixture cool now. Wait till it gets cool.
- After it cooled down, make small balls of the mixture.
- You can make around 25 balls from the used proportion.
Step 3: Do Coating
- First, put a ball to the beaten egg and coat well.
- Then, take the ball carefully and put it to breadcrumbs and coat well.
- Do this for all the balls.
- After, we have to do the second coating. Do step 4 and 5 for all the balls again.
Step 4: Fry the Cutlet Balls
- Use coconut oil, tasty.
- Pour oil to the frying pan and let it heat.
- Then, put 2 or 3 balls and fry.
- Use a small spoon to fry all the sides.
- Since we did 2 coatings, balls won’t break while frying.
